She effortlessly manages her family, career and dog Messi, often blurts out something that makes people laugh out loud, and she finished her bachelor’s degree at age 38. Meet Yvon: someone who always sees opportunities, motivates others to take action, and never stands still. Or, as her bag would say: cut the crap, just go for it – in style. Can you introduce yourself briefly? I am Yvon de Klerk, living with Twan, our son Sem, and our Labradoodle Messi in beautiful Valkenswaard. I enjoy the Burgundian lifestyle but also love to shop. Trashious’s pay-off is: Where some see trash, we see opportunities. How does this fit with you? I am someone who always thinks in possibilities; I see the glass as half full. I’m not very creative myself, so I like to rely on others who are, and who can turn waste into beautiful things; killing two birds with one stone. When do you feel your strongest? (Apart from opening a jar of pickles without help.) I feel my strongest in my role as an HR advisor. That’s where my qualities really come to the fore. Whether it’s having an in-depth conversation with an employee, lending a helping hand, or guiding someone in their growth — that’s what gives me energy. Who or what gives you that kick in the butt when you need it? I haven’t needed that so far. I’ve most often needed someone to slow me down, and fortunately Twan does that very well☺️. Which choices in your life make you proud? Decisions regarding my career and the related education. Making the right choices when dealing with a teenager can be quite a challenge. But I also get very happy from choosing the right outfit. How do you motivate yourself on days when you want to stay under a blanket? Luckily, I never struggle with that. How do you minimize your footprint on the world? (Are you, for example, good at saving leftovers?) By keeping the car parked as much as possible, I aim to minimize my footprint. I mostly do everything by bike and enjoy walking with our four-legged friend. What is the biggest blunder you can now laugh about? Because I’m quite open and honest and tend to blurt things out, I frequently make blunders. I can’t just name one🤣. What is the best advice you’ve ever received or given? To finish my bachelor’s degree at age 38. I haven’t regretted it to this day. If your bag could talk, what would it say about you? Enthusiastic and cheerful, no long talks, just action. It loves spending a lot of money on clothes, shoes, and bags🤪. What was your first job? Cashier at Edah. What is the nicest compliment you’ve ever received? That people think I look younger🤩. Which woman inspires you? Who would you like to share an evening of wine and wisdom with? Janine Vos, Head of HR at Rabobank. What was the biggest challenge in your life, and how did you handle it? Four years of studying alongside work and family. It went well thanks to a lot of discipline, structure, and support from home. Managing a teen is also quite a challenge! In three hashtags, how would you describe yourself? #EnergeticMover – I am cheerful, enthusiastic, and a doer. #ConnectingNetworker – I easily make contact and bring people together. #PerseverantWithDrive – I don’t give up easily and work goal-oriented. In three hashtags, how would you describe Trashious? #FutureThinker – Trashious looks ahead and seeks innovative solutions. #CreativePower – Trashious thinks outside the box and produces original ideas. #SustainableDoing – Trashious combines thinking with action for a better, sustainable world. Is there anything else you’d like to share with us? Trashious bags are suitable for every occasion - beautiful laptop bags you can carry with pride at work. But also for walks with the dog, there are stylish designs that let you shine. Very happy with them!Bovenkant formulier
