Her friends call her a creative jack-of-all-trades, and they’re not exaggerating. For over 15 years, Beathe Weckesser has been building bridges in media and sales, launching her own brands, and now even working on a raincoat that’s about to hit the market. “You live now” is her motto, and that’s exactly what makes her so powerful and adventurous. Seeing and seizing opportunities? Beathe embodies our payoff in every way. Curious to see her “you live now” motto in action? Beathe tells you herself.

Can you briefly introduce yourself? Hi! I’m Beathe Weckesser, often described by friends as a creative jack-of-all-trades. For more than 15 years, I’ve worked in media, sales, and partnerships, helping organizations build unique collaborations. On top of that, entrepreneurship runs through my veins. From the baby brand Mummo to a brand-new raincoat I’ll be launching soon. Soon more 😉.

The Trashious payoff is: Where some see trash, we see opportunities. How does this apply to you? That payoff fits me perfectly: I see opportunities and business possibilities everywhere. I actually am that payoff.

What makes you proud? I often feel, “you live now.” It makes choices easier. For example, last year we bought an old camper — the best impulsive purchase ever! This summer, we traveled for a month through France and Spain with our family. That sense of freedom was wonderful and so connecting.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received or given? Discover your talents. Combine what you love with something that helps you grow. Dare to just go for it and see where it takes you.

If your bag could talk, what would it say about you? “Hey, scatterbrain, we should’ve left already!” Time and I aren’t the best of friends. I’m not really into the Dutch obsession with punctuality. I’d rather be a few minutes late than too early — even though every clock in the house is set ahead 🫣.

What was your first job? My first job was as a waitress at Van der Valk in Emmeloord. I worked there for 4.5 years and learned and laughed a lot :). For me, hospitality is the ultimate school of life. You develop people skills and gain insight into so many different sides of business.

Which woman inspires you? Sara Blakely. I find her drive, personality, and entrepreneurial spirit inspiring. I love what she has achieved and would love to learn from her. Plus, I think she’d be an absolute blast to have a glass of wine with :) Inspired? Your story deserves to be heard as well and we’d love to shine a light on it. We invite you to share it here >>
